Medicines and inhalers If you child needs an inhaler, even on an occasional basis, please can you ensure that a spare inhaler is kept in their classroom. If they are on a long term medication can you please ensure that the medication kept in school is ‘in date’. Thank you for your co-operation.
Infection control The Health Protection Agency states that children who experience sickness and diarrhoea should be kept away from school for 48 hours following the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.
Severe Weather Warnings Should bad weather be forecast – Bad weather procedure is in the event of the school having to close, we will text all parent/carers, issue a message on Heart FM and BBC Wiltshire and also post on the website and Facebook. If we get snow and are not closed, please send your child to school with suitable outdoor clothing as we do like to build snowmen on the field.
Educational Visits and Trips At Longleaze we believe it is important to enhance all of our pupils’ educational experiences by providing them with opportunities for learning that are off-site or by inviting experts in to school. Two trips and at least one visitor will be planned in to the curriculum for each class. Parents and carers will be asked to contribute to the costs of these trips (usually around £20 per child). The school will aim to inform parents and carers about when these trips will occur, at the start of the year.
